June Chinook + Coho Heating Up on Discovery Passage
Early-June salmon fishery on Discovery Passage is firing — Chinook on the riggers, early Coho hitting in the top column. Mid-week openings still available on the Conquest and Montauk fleet.

The June bite is ON. Both Chinook and Coho are hitting on Discovery Passage right now, and the conditions are lining up — bright fish, willing bite, and the kind of stable June weather we wait for all spring.
What's working
The pattern this week:
- Chinook — Riggers down 80-120 feet, anchovy in glow teaser heads or hoochies behind a flasher. Fish are 12-18 lbs typical with a few trophies in the 25-30 lb range showing up.
- Coho — Early-run hatchery fish are starting to show in the top 40 feet. Small spoons on the rigger or top-line trolled — quick strikes, hot runs, classic Coho.
Discovery Passage funnels both species through the same water. Once you find them, you're in the right place.
Where
Cape Mudge, Wilby Shoals, and the points around Quadra Island are all producing right now. The Conquest works the outside; the Montauks pin down the inside of the Passage where the Coho love to feed.
Mid-week openings
Weekends sell first — June mid-week slots are still available across the fleet. Perfect window for first-timers, families, or anyone who wants the Passage to themselves.
