Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Fishing Storie Charters website (fishingstoriecharters.com) and all services provided by Fishing Storie Charters ("we," "us," or "our"), including fishing charters, wildlife tours, and related experiences in Campbell River, British Columbia.

By booking a charter, using our website, or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

Booking & Reservations

All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by Fishing Storie Charters.
A deposit may be required at the time of booking to secure your reservation.
Full payment is due prior to departure unless otherwise arranged.
Prices are quoted in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and are subject to change without notice. The price at the time of booking confirmation will be honored.
You must be 19 years of age or older to book a charter. Minors are welcome aboard with a responsible adult.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

14+ days before departure: Full refund minus processing fees.
7-13 days before departure: 50% refund or full credit toward a future trip.
Less than 7 days before departure: No refund. You may reschedule subject to availability.
No-shows: No refund will be issued for no-shows.
Weather cancellations: If we cancel due to unsafe weather conditions, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule at no additional cost.

We reserve the right to cancel or modify a trip due to weather, mechanical issues, or safety concerns. In such cases, we will offer a full refund or rescheduling.

Safety & Conduct

All guests must follow the captain's instructions at all times while aboard.
Life jackets are provided and must be worn when directed by the captain.
Guests under the influence of drugs or excessive alcohol may be refused boarding without refund.
We reserve the right to return to port early if a guest's behavior endangers themselves, other guests, or the crew. No refund will be issued in such cases.
Guests are responsible for their personal belongings. Fishing Storie Charters is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.

Fishing Licenses

A valid British Columbia tidal waters fishing license is required for all guests aged 16 and older. Licenses can be purchased online through the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada . We recommend purchasing your license before your trip. Your captain can assist with the process if needed.

Assumption of Risk & Liability

Fishing and boating involve inherent risks including but not limited to adverse weather, rough seas, slippery surfaces, wildlife encounters, and equipment hazards. By participating in our charters, you acknowledge and voluntarily assume these risks.

Fishing Storie Charters, its captains, and crew shall not be liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, or damage to personal property arising from participation in our services, except where caused by our gross negligence.
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific charter or tour in question.
We carry commercial marine liability insurance as required by Transport Canada regulations.

Guests may be asked to sign a waiver and release of liability form prior to boarding.

Catch Policy

All fishing is conducted in compliance with Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) regulations for Area 13 (Campbell River).
Catch limits, species restrictions, and seasonal closures are strictly observed.
We practice catch-and-release for species that are not in season or over-limit.
While we do our best to put you on fish, we cannot guarantee catches. Fishing is a natural activity subject to conditions beyond our control.
Fish cleaning and basic processing are included with your charter. Vacuum packing and shipping can be arranged at additional cost.

Photos & Media

Photos and videos taken during your charter may be used by Fishing Storie Charters for marketing, social media, and promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be photographed, please inform your captain at the start of your trip.

By uploading photos to our website or social media channels, you grant Fishing Storie Charters a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and share those images in connection with our business.

Gratuities

Tips are not included in charter pricing and are at your discretion. If you enjoyed your experience, a gratuity of 15-20% is customary and greatly appreciated by our guides. Tips can be given in cash or via our online tipping page.

The content on our website is for informational purposes only and may be updated at any time.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify any content from our website without written permission.
Our website uses cookies and analytics as described in our Privacy Policy.
We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party websites linked from our site.

Payment Processing

Online payments are securely processed through Stripe. We do not store credit card information on our servers. All transactions are encrypted and subject to Stripe's terms of service. We also accept cash, e-Transfer, and debit/credit card payments in person.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
