6-Hour Trip FAQs
How does the 6-hour trip differ from the 4-hour?
Two extra hours means more fishing time, more spots, and more chances to catch fish. The 6-hour trip is ideal for families who want a complete experience without the full-day commitment.
Is 6 hours too long for young children?
Most kids 6 and older do great on 6-hour trips. We bring snacks, take breaks, and keep things fun. If you have younger kids (under 5), we recommend starting with our 4-hour intro trip.
What boat is used for the 6-hour trip?
We use our 17' Boston Whaler Montauk for this trip. It's stable, safe, and perfect for calm protected waters near Campbell River. The open design is great for teaching fishing techniques.
Should I bring lunch for a 6-hour trip?
Yes, we recommend bringing lunch and plenty of snacks for a 6-hour trip. We have a cooler on board to keep everything fresh. Stay hydrated - bring water and other beverages too.
Is the 6-hour trip good for complete beginners?
Absolutely! This trip is designed for beginners who want more time to learn. Six hours gives us time to teach proper techniques, try different spots, and ensure everyone catches fish.
What species can we catch on the 6-hour trip?
We target all five Pacific salmon species - Chinook, Coho, Sockeye, Chum, and Pink - depending on the season. We also catch Lingcod and Rockfish for variety.
