Our 27' Boston Whaler Conquest
Designed for stability and comfort, our flagship vessel offers features that make fishing accessible for everyone.
Wide, Stable Platform
Our 27-foot Boston Whaler has a wide beam and unsinkable hull design, providing exceptional stability. The spacious deck gives plenty of room for wheelchairs, walkers, or extra space to move safely.
Heated Enclosed Cabin
Take a break from the elements in our comfortable heated cabin. Perfect for warming up, resting, or escaping the wind and spray. Cushioned seating provides a comfortable place to relax.
Private Washroom
Our vessel features a private marine head (bathroom) in the cabin, providing dignity and convenience during your trip. No need to worry about long hours on the water.
Secure Seating Options
Multiple seating positions including bolster seats, bench seating, and cabin chairs. We can help position you in the most comfortable and stable location for fishing.
Low-Profile Entry
Boarding is easier with our walk-through transom and side gates. We dock at a stable, accessible marina with boarding assistance available.
Non-Slip Decking
The entire deck features non-slip surfaces to prevent falls and provide secure footing, even in wet conditions. Safety rails and grab handles are strategically placed.
Smooth Ride Technology
The Boston Whaler's legendary soft ride and stability reduce jarring motions, making the experience more comfortable for guests with mobility limitations or chronic pain.
Communication Support
Starlink WiFi connectivity allows for communication accommodations. We can adjust our instruction methods to suit visual, hearing, or cognitive needs.
How We Accommodate Your Needs
Every guest is different. Here's how we work with you to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience.
Boarding Assistance
Our captain and crew will help you safely board the vessel. We take our time, provide steady support, and ensure you're comfortable before we depart. Wheelchair users can transfer to stable seating on board.
Custom Seating Arrangements
Whether you need to fish from a seated position, require back support, or need a specific configuration, we'll set up the boat to accommodate you. Bring your own cushions or supports if needed.
Flexible Trip Scheduling
We can adjust the pace of the day, take extra breaks, or modify the itinerary based on your energy levels and comfort. Your experience is about enjoyment, not rushing.
Fishing Technique Adaptations
We'll adapt fishing techniques to match your abilities. You can fish seated, with assistance fighting fish, or with modified rod holders. The goal is for you to actively participate and enjoy the catch.
Communication Accommodations
We work with guests who have hearing, visual, or speech differences. Instructions can be given visually, repeated, or simplified. Let us know how we can communicate most effectively with you.
Family-Friendly Accessibility
Caregivers and family members are welcome aboard at no extra charge if needed for assistance. We want you to have the support you need to enjoy the experience fully.
"I've used a wheelchair for years and thought fishing from a boat was impossible. The crew at Fishing Storie Charters made it happen. They helped me board safely, set me up in a comfortable position, and I caught a 20-pound Chinook! It was one of the best days of my life. They treated me with respect and made me feel capable, not limited."

Accessible Fishing FAQs
Common questions about accessibility on our charters.
Can I bring my wheelchair on board?
Manual wheelchairs can be brought on board if needed, though most guests find it easier to transfer to our secure seating once aboard. The deck has ample space, and we can assist with transfers. Power wheelchairs are more challenging due to weight and size, but we're happy to discuss options.
What if I need help with personal care?
We encourage you to bring a caregiver or family member who can assist with personal care needs. Our private washroom provides privacy and dignity, but for intimate personal care, having your own caregiver ensures your comfort. Caregivers can join the trip at no extra cost if space allows.
Is the boat suitable for someone with limited upper body strength?
Yes! We can use lighter rods, set up rod holders, and provide hands-on assistance with fighting fish. You'll still be actively involved in the catch — we just adapt the technique. Many guests with limited strength have successfully landed salmon with our support.
What about seasickness for someone who can't easily move around?
Our boat's stability helps reduce motion sickness. We fish in protected waters with calmer conditions. We recommend taking motion sickness medication before boarding. Our cabin provides a stable, sheltered space where you can rest if needed. We can also return to shore early if necessary.
Are there age limits for accessible fishing trips?
No age limits! We've accommodated children with special needs and seniors with mobility challenges. Every situation is unique, which is why we encourage you to call first so we can discuss what will work best for your specific circumstances.
What if I have questions you haven't answered here?
Please call us at 250-202-8324! We're happy to answer any accessibility questions and discuss your specific situation. There's no question too small or concern too minor. We want you to feel completely confident before booking.
